Spent this last semester working on a project for the school. The principal footage was shoot a while ago and we were trying to finish up the last of the effects shots. My shots where of a wine glass falling and shattering upon a table and of a window that shatters as a person is thrown through. I am using the Houdini Software for both of these shots. I knew nothing of this software going in and it has proven to be quite a challenge to get to where I am know. The goal is premiere the film in February, so fingers crossed.

Tilt-Shift Maker
Pretty excited about my final project for my ActionScript class. I made a simple Air App that will create a Tilt-shift image from nearly any photo.

Click the Following link to download the Air App, install and enjoy your very own Tilt-shift Maker.
(note: this app is still a work in progress, it is fully functional but I'am still fixing some minor image save issues and will be adding additional features next semster)

ActionScript Physics
I haven't posted yet this semester. Been working super hard on some cool stuff in Actionscript and PHP but as cool as it is, it's not really pretty stuff.
This is my first attempt at rendering Physics with ActionScript. Not terribly unique but still kinda cool to code physics.

Paper craft months
It's been a while. Over the summer I took a Printing Pre-press class and one of the assignments was to create and print a calender. I created these paper-craft style months for that assignment, thought they turned out pretty nice.

Check out this Camera
Stumbled across an article the other day about a new camera being developed by the lytro company.
http://www.lytro.com/
http://www.lytro.com/
They are developing what they call a light field camera, a fundamentally different method of capturing light for photography. I can't claim to understand how it works but they claim you'll be able to mimic specific lens properties in post without the need for the lens itself. Which is pretty cool.
Check out the demo below. Click anywhere in the image to alter the focus plane.

Create a likable Facebook promotion with a custom dropbox form
As some of you may know I am running a promotion for my Business, giving away a free vinyl sticker for just liking our Facebook page. It took some digging, to find a way to create a promotion that would only be available to fans of NNdustrie Media. I expected this to much more difficult than it really is.
So I am going to share what I found.

Electro Luminescent decals
We have a new product here at NNdustrie Media, well sort-of! It's more of a novelty but if your interested, we can defiantly accommodate any requests.
It's an electro-luminescent sheet of paper, and it runs off a 5v battery. The only size we have currently is 6" X 41/2". It supposedly can be cut to any shape but we haven't attempted that yet.
The cost will be around $50.00 for one sheet.
Take a look at the pictures below

The Life Raft Debate
This week's "This American Life" features a small segment about a debate that occurs every year at a small liberal arts college. The debate pits each discipline against each other for a sole seat in a life raft. Especially poignant was the discussion that takes place between minute 12 - 13.
(This is a small segment of an hour long program, click here to goto the This American Life website where you can play the whole show in it's entirety)
Pop-up storybook assingment
I got a lot of traction out of this brush set this week.
Here is the final assignment for this week, Hanni of course hated it because it lacked color? But I like muted colors and since this isn't a design class, just Photoshop class, I get to do what I like, so here it is!
Creating 3D depth from a 2D Image
This tutorial is a three part series, after creating the above image,
Pick from three options to create the depth
1. Tilt shift
2. Box blur
3. Steroegraphic

3d Depth
The assignment was to create a pop-up effect in Photoshop. The first was created using a tutorial from http://alfoart.com/christmas_card_1.html.
I was being lazy and didn't feel like creating something for the assignment but Hanni got mad at me for being lazy, so I am working on a different assignment, should have a tutorial up for it this week.
Anywho here it is.

Latest print work!
This week I got the contract to print 200 custom whisky glasses for the world famous Magic Castle in California. It's for some kind of pre-show press event to help promote the 4 show run of Pazzazz in Santa Barbara.
(Milt and Arlene Larsen are proud to present PAZZAZZ! -- a new original musical recalling the gay old days of the eighteen-nineties. This brand-new original toe-tapping musical weaves the comedy, vaudeville and intrigue of an exciting by-gone era with words and music by Richard M. Sherman and Milt Larsen. PAZZAZZ! is the fascinating story about legendary vaudeville comedians Joe Weber and Lew Fields, as told through the voice of George M. Cohan, the “King of Broadway.” 1899 Broadway comes to life on stage with a full production featuring an outstanding professional cast, fabulous period costumes by Arlene Larsen, special scenery by Joseph Hoffman and a rollicking live band under the direction of Richard Allen. The production is directed and choreographed by Broadway and TV veteran Walter Painter, and marks the first stop in a pre-Broadway West Coast tour of performing arts venues.
Milt Larsen and Arlene Larsen are longtime residents of Montecito and Santa Barbara. In addition to being Richard Sherman’s collaborator, Milt is best known as the founder of Hollywood’s famous club for magicians, The Magic Castle.)
